This year, IIT Bombay will conduct the JEE Advanced exams for admission into various IITs of the country on August 28, 2022. Keeping in mind the pandemic conditions, the Joint Admission Board has provided relaxation for the class 12th students similar to the last two years. This will be the third year when the exam will not be conducted outside India. However, the candidates are allowed to travel to the country to give the exams.
Eligibility Criteria to sit for JEE Advanced 2022
To be eligible to sit for JEE Advanced 2022, a student must secure a rank under the top 2,50,000 in JEE Main Exam 2022.
A candidate who secured a seat in the top 2,50,000 students in JEE Main 2021, but could not sit for JEE Advanced 2021 due to undeniable pandemic conditions can also sit for JEE Advanced 2022.
A candidate can give up to two attempts of JEE Advanced. Counting the first attempt in the year of completion of class 12th board exams.
Talking about the age limit, a candidate of the general category who is born on or after October 1, 1997, is eligible to sit for JEE Advanced 2022 after successfully passing class 12th Board exams on the first attempt. However, for candidates in SC, ST, OBC & PWD categories, a candidate born on or after October 1, 1992, is eligible for JEE Advanced 2022.
