NEET 2019 Scores Validity – MCI New Rule!

MCI, in its official gazette notification, said that the validity of NEET score for admission to medical courses abroad is increased to three years from March 2019. This is really a good news for those students who want to pursue medical course abroad. MCI notification has further added to the Screening Test Regulations 2002 that the extended validity would be effective from 14th March 2019. The point to note is that the validity of NEET score for admissions in India is unchanged.

According to the MCI notification , “the result of NEET shall be valid for a period of three (3) years from the date of declaration of result, entitling a candidate to pursue MBBS or equivalent medical course including pre-medical/language course, if any, followed by MBBS or equivalent medical course for taking admission in an undergraduate medical course in a foreign medical institution.”

This move has been welcomed by the students who want to pursue medical courses abroad. Earlier, the candidates who want to pursue medical course abroad, need to get an eligibility certificate (EC) from the Ministry of Health. However, it was made mandatory last year when MCI announced that NEET qualifiers will have to obtain a certificate of eligibility. Now as per the MCI notification , students will get the eligibility certificate once they qualify NEET. The amendment in the score validity is effective from March 2019.
