CBSE Class-10 Mathematics Standard Paper 2020 Analysis & Review

Class 10 Mathematics Standard board exam was successfully conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today i.e., 12th March 2020. As this year CBSE has introduced major changes in Mathematics Standard subject and the subject has been divided into two categories i.e., Standard and Basic. This analysis is for Mathematics Standard for class 10 students. Over 18 lakh students appeared for the Mathematics paper this year. As per the data available approx.11 lakh of students appeared in Mathematics Standard. The exam was started at 10:30 AM and continued till 1:30 PM. The examination was conducted smoothly by CBSE without any interruption.

Examination Pattern & Marking Scheme

CBSE Class 10 Mathematic Standard paper consisted of four sections viz. A, B, C and D which contained 30 questions of total 80 marks.

Scheme of Choices:

All sections were compulsory, and students needed to attempt all the sections. There was no overall choice in the question paper. However, an internal choice was provided in three questions of 3 marks each and three questions of 4 marks each. Students will have to attempt only one of the alternatives in all such questions.                

Feedback of the students

CBSE Class 10 Mathematic Standard paper was a good start for students this year. Most of the students who appeared for the exam were found satisfied with the exam paper. Check out the few points from the feedback of the students.

  • The paper was easy in both length and difficulty.
  • Section D was a bit tough in the whole paper.
  • The paper was straight from NCERT book.
  • The paper was easier than last year.
  • Many questions were almost similar to those asked in previous years.
  • All the questions in the paper were asked from the latest CBSE 10th Mathematics syllabus.
