CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Paper 2020 Analysis

Class 12 Chemistry board exam was successfully conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on 7th March 2020. After holding the Physics exam on March 2, 2020, students have got enough time to prepare for the exam as the exam was held after a gap of 4 days. The exam was started at 10:30 AM and continued till 1:30 PM. The examination was conducted smoothly by CBSE without any interruption.

Examination Pattern & Marking Scheme

CBSE Class 12 Chemistry paper consisted of four sections viz. A, B, C and D which consisted of 37 questions of total 70 marks that had to be solved within 3 hours of time duration. Here is the format of the question paper.

Scheme of Choices:

All sections were compulsory, and students needed to attempt all the sections. An internal choice was given in two questions of 2 marks, two questions of 3 marks and all the three questions of 5 marks weightage. Students needed to attempt only one of the choices in these questions.

Feedback of the students

CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Board Exam this year appeared balanced for students. Most of the students who appeared for the exam were satisfied with the exam paper. Check out of the few points shortlisted from students’ feedback:

  • The paper was easy in both length and difficulty.
  • Questions from the Organic part were medium level.
  • Few questions from p-block elements, d and f-block elements and a few numerical based questions were slightly tricky.
  • Most of the questions were based directly from NCERT.
  • All the questions in the paper were asked from the latest CBSE 12th Chemistry syllabus.
