In early April, CBSE board cancelled the Class 10 Board exam 2021 due to the surge in COVID-19 cases across the country. It was mentioned that time that the method to assess the students will be formulated and will be shared soon. On 1st May, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the assessment criteria through which Class 10 students will be evaluated and results will be declared.This assessment criteria will now be used to declared the result for 21.5 lakh Class 10 students who had registered but could not take exams due to the pandemic. CBSE class 10 results is expected to be releasedon 20th June 2021.
According to the criteria released by CBSE, the students will be assessed out of maximum 100 marks for each subject. 20 marks for internal assessment will be allotted as per the existing policy and 80 marks distribution in each subject will be based on the following mentioned criteria.

The assessment of 80 marks will be done by the school on the following basis:
- Based on the marks scored by the student in different test conducted by the school in the complete academic year.
- The marks should be in consonance with the past performance of the school in class 10th Board exams.
Following exams will be considered for calculating the marks for students:
In case more than one exam is conducted by the school within each category, then the result committee will fix the weightage to be given to each test/ exam within the category subject to the overall maximum marks for that category. Further, schools will decide the distribution numbers if a student has appeared only in some exams or has taken both online and offline exams.
Let’s have a look at the CBSE Class 10th Result 2021 Schedule
After result declaration, if any student is not satisfied with the result, he/she will be allowed to appear in the exams on a later date, decided by the board. The dates will only be announced when COVID-19 subsides in the country.
For finalising the result, Board has asked every school to create a committee of 8 members comprising the principal and seven teachers. Out of these 7 teachers,
- five teachers should be from Mathematics, Social Science, Science and two languages from the school
- other two teachers should be from the neighbouring schools who will act as the external members of the committee.
The internal members will be paid Rs 1,500 each while the external members will be paid Rs 2,500 each by CBSE.
Soon CBSE Board will announce the online system for the school to upload class 10 results. CBSE will also depute teams to randomly check whether the schools are following the guidelines for the results or not.
CBSE Board cancelled Class 10 Board exams on 14th April 2021 and postponed Class 12 Exams due to spike in the daily COVID-19 case numbers. Now, amid the uncontrolled increase in the Covid cases, class 12 students are also demanding cancellation of exam. CBSE has not commented on that yet.
