The official announcement of Boardโs new assessement plan has amazed many students as well as teachers of CBSE schools. As the CBSE has bisected the ongoing academic session 2021-22 into two terms- I & II. According to the new policy, about 50% of entire CBSE syllabus will be evaluated in Term I and the rest 50% syllabus will be evaluated in 2nd Term.
Still a lot of students are tussling due to changes made in the pattern. So here in this article we simplify all the important points for studentโs ease. Check details related to Assessment plan, syllabus and exam pattern below:
Special Scheme for CBSE Academic Session 2021-22
- CBSE Schools will keep following the syllabus which was released on 31st March 2021.
- Subject-wise & term-wise CBSE Syllabus 2021-22 for both 1&2 term will be soon released by the board.
- 50% syllabus in each term
CBSE 2021-22 Exam Schedule for Ist Term:
- CBSE Exams for 1st Term will be scheduled in November -December 2021.
- CBSE Exams for 2nd Term will be scheduled between march April 2022.

CBSE Exam pattern โ Term I & II
CBSE has mentioned that it will provide CBSE Class 10 Sample papers and 12th, Question banks & other resources for students.
For Classes IX-X:
Internal Assessment (throughout the year-irrespective of Term I and II) would include the 3 periodic tests, student enrichment, portfolio and practical work/ speaking listening activities/ project.
For Classes XI-XII:
Internal Assessment (throughout the year-irrespective of Term I and II) would include end of topic or unit tests/ exploratory activities/ practicals/ projects.
Term I Examination:
Question Paper will consist of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) including case based MCQs and MCQs on assertion- reasoning types.
Duration of exam โ 90 Minutes
Term-II Examination/ Year-End Exams:
The paper will be of 2 hours duration and have questions of different formats (case-based/ situation based, open ended- short answer/ long answer type).
In case the situation is not conducive for normal descriptive examination a 90-minute MCQ based exam will be conducted at the end of the Term II also.
