Chances of NEET 2021 Going Online Twice a Year: NTA to Union Health Ministry

NTA has written a letter to Union Health Ministry to know the possibility of conducting NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) exam twice a year in online mode. This move by NTA has created chances of NEET 2021 going online twice a year. NTA is looking forward to know the possibility of conducting NEET exam twice a year and in online mode to reduce the pressure among students seeking admission to medical colleges.

NEET is a top most national medical entrance exam conducted by NTA, once in every year. Mode of NEET exam is pen and paper for admission in MBBS and BDS courses across the country. In 2020, 15 Lakh 97 thousand students registered for NEET 2020 and 13 lakh 67 thousand candidates attempted it.

The year 2020 was very stressful for the students due to COVID19 pandemic. If NEET 2021 gets online twice a year, then it will be a great pressure relief for the NEET aspirants.

NTA officials: Chances of NEET 2021 Going Online Twice a Year

As per the reports of Hindustan Times, an official from NTA said that โ€œStudents undergo an immense amount of stress preparing for these highly competitive exams. If the test can be conducted more than once a year, it would hugely lessen the pressure on them.โ€

As per the officials this requires permission from the ministry as NTA is only an exam conducting body. This is the reason they wrote letter to Union Health Ministry.ย  As per an official โ€œThe move to hold the test twice would bring relief to students. However, presently it is not easy to conduct a pen and paper twice as it requires much larger arrangements. The NTA has also suggested that the possibility of holding it in the online mode may be examined.โ€

Previous Move of Union Education Ministry v/s Chances of NEET 2021 Going Online Twice a Year

Recently, Union Education Ministry decided to conduct JEE Main 2021 exam, 4 times a year. After this announcement, NEET aspirants are also looking forward to NTA and Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal for such announcements about NEET 2021.

Students are asking to conduct NEET 2021 more than once a year that too after June due to delay in Class XII CBSE board exams. Social media is flooded with such requests to education minister. But, as per the previous moves there are high chances of NEET 2021 exam going Online twice a year.
