Delhi Schools are Reopening – Check the Delhi Government Complete Guidelines

Schools are reopening in the national capital, Delhi to prepare students for the upcoming CBSE Board exams in 2021. Delhi Government on 13th January 2021 issued a complete plan of activities for the academics and examination, as to how to reopen the schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and start offline classes to conduct the practical and pre-board examinations.

The date of the CBSE school reopening in Delhi is 18th January 2021. Along with the complete guidelines on school reopening, CBSE pre-board exam dates 2021 are also been announced by the Delhi government.

Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia said that students will not be forced to attend classes and parents’ permission is mandatory. He tweeted about schools reopening that “”In view of CBSE exams, practicals, permission has been granted to open schools for projects, practicals, counseling, etc. for classes 10 and 12 from January 18.”

  1. Schools should provide the necessary support and proper guidance to the students about examination activities.
  2. The school must plan a complete timetable for practical and pre-board-related projects before reopening.
  3. Complete board syllabus will be revised and doubts clearing classes will be conducted by the teachers, to boost the mental wellbeing and confidence of students before the CBSE board exam. Complete academic studies were done online in 2020 and now after school reopening, students will be guided to prepare for main exams.
  4. Adequate question practice will be given to students, by solving sample paper issued by CBSE Board 2021.
  5. During this period, records of all the internal assessments will be maintained and marks will be uploaded on the website of CBSE.

School Re-Opening Guidelines of Class XII

  1. As per the notification of CBSE, practical/projects/internal assessments, etc. will be conducted by CBSE from March 1, 2021, to the last day of conduct of theory exams. It is advised that the schools may conduct these assessments before the commencement of board exams so that the examinee may appear in theory exams without stress.
  2. The tentative dates of the pre-board exam are 20th March 2021 to 15th March 2021.
  3. Before the commencement of CBSE Board Exams, an assessment of internal grades should be completed.

School Re-Opening Guidelines of Class X

  1. Schools may conduct the periodic assessment-1 and periodic assessment-2 preferably in the second week of February and 2nd week of March respectively maintaining COVID appropriate behavior.
  2. Tentative dates issued by the Delhi government are 1st April 2021 to 15th April 2021.
  3. The pre-board question paper design is similar to that of the main CBSE Board exam 2020 -2021. The marks obtained by a student in pre-board exams will be considered as the third periodic assessment.
  4. The results will be calculated on the basis of average marks obtained in the best two periodic assessments out of three.
  5.  During winter vacations, projects/assignments are given to the students as holiday homework/home assignments to be considered as subject enrichment activities (05 marks).
  6. Worksheets provided to the students to be considered as portfolios (05 marks).
  7. The school will conduct multiple assessments from 1st February 2021 to the last week of April 2021 (05 marks).

As per the government, all the precautions will be taken to ensure the safety of students.  Students or staff will be allowed in the school premises with no symptoms of illness and mandatory screening for temperature will be conducted at the entrance. All the social distancing norms will be followed due to COVID19. Wearing face masks is mandatory. Students/ Teachers living in the containment zone will not be allowed to go to the schools and these guidelines are for the students outside the containment zone.
