The Science Olympiad Foundation’s International Mathematics Olympiad (SOF IMO) is a highly prestigious competitive exam that aims to foster a love for mathematics and enhance students’ problem-solving skills. It provides a platform for students from Classes 1 to 12 to showcase their mathematical abilities and compete at national and international levels.
The SOF IMO consists of two levels: Level 1 and Level 2. Level 1 is conducted within the participating schools during school hours, while Level 2 is exclusively for qualified students from Level 1. The examination format includes multiple-choice questions that challenge students’ logical reasoning, mathematical proficiency, and critical thinking abilities.
By participating in the SOF IMO, students gain exposure to a diverse range of mathematical concepts and problems, which helps them develop a deeper understanding of the subject. The IMO Olympiad encourages students to think creatively, analyze problems from different angles, and apply mathematical principles to find innovative solutions.

Detailed SOF IMO Olympiad Syllabus
The SOF IMO Olympiad follows a syllabus that matches what students learn in their schools. The syllabus is made to fit with the curriculum of well-known educational boards like CBSE, ICSE, and state boards. This means that students are tested on the important math concepts they study in their regular classes. The Olympiad syllabus is designed in a way that ensures fairness and allows students to apply what they have learned in school during the competition. It helps to evaluate their understanding of fundamental mathematical ideas and problem-solving skills. By aligning the Olympiad syllabus with the school curriculum, the Science Olympiad Foundation aims to provide a level playing field for all participants and encourage them to apply their knowledge in a practical setting.
