Earlier in last month, Parents Association of India has enumerated 16 points to delay the national-level medical entrance exam – NEET 2020, to be held on July 26, for which 15+ lakh students will appear. They appealed to conduct these exams when the Covid 19 peaks is reduced.

According to the news published in Indian Express about 40 JEE (Main) test centres (out of 650) are currently in containment zones. Close to one lakh candidates were scheduled to take the entrance test at these centres. Hence, they would have been adversely affected if NTA had conducted JEE (Main) in July. Keeping in mind the present situation and the safety of the students the exams have been postponed. The minister state that safety of all is our priority, then comes education and that too quality education.

The minister also state, this is an opportunity for all aspirants to better their skills and prepare well for the exams.

The dates for NEET and JEE 2020 have been changed twice with the postponement decision taken. Aspiring candidates can check the revised date as mentioned below:

S.No.NEET 2020JEE 2020
1.03 May 202005, 07, 09, 11 April 2020
2.26 July 202018 to 23 July 2020
3.13 September 20201 to 6 September 2020

Since the exams are getting too late, the Agency has decided to declare the result of JEE (Main) in five days, nearly September 11, and NEET results in 20 days, by October first week. IIT JEE will also try to publish the result on the eighth day. This is to speed up the admission process and start of academic session.

To make sure that the exam centres are nearest to the aspirants, NTA has opened an edit window. Students who have made their submission earlier can make modification if any, and asked for a city/center change from July 4 to July 15 at the official website ntaneet.nic.in. The same will be relevant for JEE Main candidates at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The updated information will be seen in the admit card which will be released 15 days before the exam.

There is the mixed reaction of the students. Some are considering good as they have got more time to prepare for JEE Main Exam and NEET. Some are taking it as bad as they are not able to retain focus because of twice rescheduling of the exam. They said that they have lost drive of studies and are not able to focus at all. Many students said that since they had stopped taking mock tests and were not doing any sessions from any coaching centres, they had begun losing hold on the topics and had somehow started forgetting all what they had learnt.

To all such students, we would like to advice that they should concentrate on the studies with a proper break. This phase will soon pass. This extended time is a blessing to revise the complete syllabus many times so that you could perform better in the exam.

Keep revising note, taking mock tests and practising previous years papers. MTG Books are now available in the digital format too. All the best!
