The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) National Science Olympiad (NSO) has announced the cut-off marks for the second level of the SOF NSO exam which is to be held on 11 February 2024. The cut-off is class-wise, ensuring fair competition and equal opportunities for all participants.
The cut-off marks for the SOF NSO (2023-24) Level-2 are determined with the top 5% of students that qualified in first level. The table provided below showcases the class-wise cut-off marks and the corresponding achievements in each section for a selection of classes.

In the event of more than one student scoring the same total marks, the marks obtained section-wise are taken into consideration. The weightage given to the sections varies depending on the class level. For classes 1 to 10, the order of weightage is M3, M2, M1. However, for classes 11 and 12, the order is M3, M1, M2.
Apart from the top 5% qualifiers, additional students can also qualify for the second level.
Class toppers, where at least 10 students from a class appeared for the NSO and scored 50% or more marks, automatically qualify.
Furthermore, the top 25 rank holders from each zone, class-wise, also secure a spot in the second level.
Ultimately, the SOF NSO aims to foster scientific aptitude and passion among young students, allowing them to explore their potential and showcase their talent on an international platform.
