Every year lakhs of students appear for various Engineering Entrance Exams. Though many states consider JEE Main Marks for the admission in their colleges, some states and universities/Institute conducts their own exam. We here present the Tentative Schedule for 9 most popular Engineering Entrance Exams 2021 to keep students updated. Apart from JEE Main there are various other state level and university level exam for which students can apply.

1. JEE Main 2021 – JEE Main is the most popular and preferred National Level Entrance exam. This year it is going to be held in 4 sessions to help students prepare well and avoid clash with the other exam dates. The first session will commence in Feb 2021.

Exam Level – National

Exam Category – Undergarduate

Exam Pattern – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Drawing

Duration – 3 hours (180 Minutes)

Marking Scheme – +4 mark for the Correct Answers | -1 Mark for Wrong Answers

Mode of Exam – Online i.e. Computer-based Test (CBT) & Offline

2. JEE Advanced – JEE Advanced is the second stage exam conducted once a year by the seven zonal IITs with guidance from the Joint Admission Board (JAB). The scores achieved are used for admissions to BTech programmes offered by different IITs in India. Only 2.5 lakh rank holders in JEE Main exam are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced exam. Exam dates of JEE Advanced 2021 are not yet released.

Exam Level – National

Number of Papers – 2 (Paper-I and Paper-II)

Exam Pattern – Multiple Choice Questions (with one or more correct options), Numerical based Questions, Matching List Questions

Duration – 3 Hours each for Paper-I & Paper-II

Marking Scheme – +4 if all the marked responses are correct, +3, +2, +1 for partially correct answers, provided any incorrect option is not marked, -2 for Incorrect Answer

No Negative marking for questions left unattempt

Mode of Exam – Online i.e. Computer-based Test (CBT)

3. BITSAT – BITSAT is a computer-based test conducted annually for the admission in BE, Pharma and M. Sc programmes by Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani for the Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad locations. BITSAT 2021 dates (Tentative) 3rd or 4th week of May 2021.

Exam Level – University Level

No. of seats – 2600

Exam Pattern – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

Duration – 3 Hours

Marking Scheme – +3 mark for the Correct Answers | -1 Mark for Wrong Answers

Mode of Exam – Online i.e., Computer-based Test (CBT)

4. VITEEE – VITEEE 2021 exam will be held online by the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) for admissions to its B Tech programmes. VITEEE 2021 Application Form has been released on 30th November 2020 and the last date of submitting the applications is 30th March 2021. Tentative dates of exams are 2nd – 3rd week of April 2021.

Exam Level – University level exam

No. of seats – 5000

Exam Pattern – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

Duration – 2 Hours and 30 Minutes

Marking Scheme – +1 mark for the Correct Answers | No negative mark for incorrect answer.

Mode of Exam – Online i.e. Computer-based Test (CBT)

5. SRMJEEE – SRMJEEE 2021 will be held online across more than 100 test centres in India and few centres in Middle-east. This exam is conducted by SRM Institute of Science & Technology for admissions in BTech programmes offered by its campuses in Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani and Delhi-NCR. SRMJEEE 2021 Application Form has been released on 10th December 2020 and the last date of submitting the applications is 31st March 2021. Admissions in various campuses will be based on the score obtained in SRMJEEE exam. Tentative dates for exam are 1st or 2nd week of April 2021.

Exam Pattern – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

Duration – 2 Hours and 30 Minutes

Marking Scheme – +3 mark for the Correct Answers | No negative mark for incorrect answer.

Mode of Exam – Online i.e. Computer-Based Test (CBT)

6. COMEDK – COMEDK (Undergraduate Entrance Test) is a state level exam conducted by Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED K). By clearing this exam students can get admission in various engineering degree courses offered by colleges affiliated to COMEDK. COMEDK exams will be held online in 2021, tentative schedule for exam is 2nd week of May 2021.

Exam Level – State level exam

No. of seats – More than 20,000

Exam Pattern – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

Duration – 3 Hours

Marking Scheme – +1 mark for the Correct Answers | No negative mark for incorrect answer.

Mode of Exam – Online i.e. Computer-Based Test (CBT)

7. KIITJEE – KIITJEE is conducted by the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar to offer admission in various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. KIITJEE application form has been released on 10th December 2020 and the last date of submitting the applications is 31st March 2021.KIITJEE exam will be held from 14th April to 23rd April 2021.

Exam Level – University level exam

Exam Pattern – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

Duration – 3 Hours

Marking Scheme – +4 mark for the Correct Answers | 1 negative mark for incorrect answer.

Mode of Exam – Online i.e. Computer-Based Test (CBT)

8. WBJEE – West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is a state-level examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). By clearing this exam students can get admission in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by Engineering & Technology, Architecture and Pharmacy courses by colleges in the state. WBJEE 2021 is expected to be held in February or March 2021.

Exam Level – State level exam

Exam Pattern – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

Duration – 4 Hours (2 Hours Mathematics, 2 Hours Physics and Chemistry)

Marking Scheme – Category 1 – +1 correct answer, – ¼ incorrect answers; Category 2 – +2 correct answer, -½ incorrect answers.

Mode of Exam – OMR based (offline mode)

9. MHTCET – Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) is conducted by the DTE (Directorate of Technical Education), Maharashtra for admissions to first-year Engineering and Technology programmes (BE/BTech) and Pharmacy programmes (BPharma/PharmaD) in the state. The tentative date of MHTCET exam is 2nd week of May 2021.

Exam Level – State level exam

Exam Pattern – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), 3 papers

Duration – 2 Hours for each paper

Marking Scheme – Paper 2 & Paper 3 – +1 correct answer; Paper 1 (Math) – +2 correct answers, No negative marking.

Mode of Exam – Online i.e. Computer-based Test (CBT)
