UPPSC PCS 2021 Exam – Syllabus, Exam Pattern for Prelims and Mains

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission is going to conduct the UPPSC PCS Prelims exams 2021 on June,13, 2021. The recruitment notification of 400 vacancies has already been released by the authority to fill the vacant positions. The UPPSC had changed the exam pattern for PCS Exam Pattern. Candidates who are in search of syllabus can download it from the below.

UPPSC PCS 2021 Exam Dates-

Selection Process for UPPSC PCS-

The Selected candidates need to go through three phases in order to clear UPPSC PCS  2021and the phases are:

  1. Prelims Exam – 2 papers (MCQs)
  2. Mains Exam – 8 papers (Descriptive Type)
  3. Interview

UPPSC PCS 2021 Exam Pattern (NEW): Prelims & Mains Exam

The pattern of the exam for both of the exam is different and involves different marking scheme. To get familiar with the pattern go through the detailed exam pattern provided below.

The PCS exam pattern for UPPSC Prelims 2021 is given below –

Note: The Paper 2 CSAT is qualifying in nature. (33% Qualifying Criteria)

The PCS exam pattern for UPPSC Mains 2021 is given below –

  • Type of the Paper – Offline exam (Pen and Paper Based)
  • Nature of the Questions – Descriptive Type questions

UPPSC PCS Syllabus (Prelims)

The syllabus for prelim exam – Paper 1 & 2 8isw mentioned below:

Paper 1:

  1. Current events of National & International importance
  2. Indian History and National Movement
  3. Indian and World Geography – Socio-economic, Physical geography
  4. Indian Governance and Polity – Political System, Constitution, Public Policy, Panchayati Raj, Rights Issues, etc.
  5. Social and Economic Development- Demographics, Sustainable Development, poverty inclusion, Social Sector Initiatives etc.
  6. Environmental Ecological, Climate Change and Biodiversity- general issues that don’t require subject specialization.
  7. General science

Paper 2 –

  1. Comprehension
  2. Interpersonal skills (Including communication skills)
  3. Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning
  4. Problem Solving & Decision Making
  5. General Mental Ability
  6. Elementary Mathematics (Class X Level – Algebra, Statistics, Geometry and Arithmetic)
  7. General English (Class X Level)
  8. General Hindi (Class X Level)
