The National Testing Agency has been chosen to conduct the CUET 2022 for entrance into Undergraduate courses of 54 central universities in the country. Before session 2022-2023, the Central Universities Common Entrance Test used to take place to evaluate students for entrance into undergraduate courses of various universities. What is CUET Exam 2022?
CUET or Common University Entrance Test is a computer-based common entrance test that will be conducted for admission into 54 central universities for Undergraduate courses in India. All the students who have cleared 10+2 or any other equivalent exam are eligible to sit for the CUET 2022.
NTA has already released CUET 2022 notification. The test conducting body will conduct CUET for the first time in the first week of July 2022 after the completion of the CBSE Board Term 2 exams. The registration window for the same shall be open from 2 April 2022.
Our view on the purpose of conducting CUET 2022?
The cut-offs of various Universities such as Delhi University have been increasing year by year. In contrast with this, the unequal pattern of evaluation of various Boards (CBSE, ICSE, State Boards) has made it unfair for students to get entrance to their dream colleges. Above this, various Universities conduct their entrance tests. Sitting for various entrance tests becomes costly for the students hence, they have to settle for less by taking admissions into local institutes for further studies.
Keeping the facts in mind, it has been decided that a single entrance test must be created for all the students who wish to take admission into various central universities in the country.
Are CUET and CUCET same?
Common Universities Entrance Test is the revamped form of the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). Both the exams are conducted for the students to test their ability to get an entrance in one of the 54 central universities that are participating in the exam.
So, should you sit for CUET 2022?
YES. If you are willing to pursue a bachelor’s (other than in engineering or medical field) from a prestigious central university in India, you must participate in the exam. All you need to do is register for the exam and get started with CUET books.
