DU announced that it will continue to check applicants’ “best performance” even as it transitions to a new system. Previously, an applicant’s admission to DU was determined by a percentage based on the four subjects in which they scored the highest (best four). Their best performance in CUET domain papers will be the deciding factor now. Moreover, applicants will take six domain (subject) papers in CUET, but they must have studied those subjects in the 12th class. Thus, DU will evaluate the student’s best performance based on course eligibility. For instance, if someone wants to pursue B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics, they must apply for any 1 language from Section 1 + Physics + any two subjects, one of which must be from Section 2. They may, however, choose five subjects from Section 2 if they previously studied those subjects in Class 12. As a result, the final worth of the CUET score will be determined by their performance on the language test and the highest marks earned in three domain subjects (out of the total five they took the test).
