CBSE Board Exam 2021 – Important Announcements, Exam Schedule, Syllabus and Books

Every year Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts Class X & Class XII board exams in March. But, session 2020 – 2021 is completely different for CBSE students. Syllabus is reduced, exams are postponed and many more changes are done due to on-going COVID19 pandemic. CBSE is looking into the matter as per student prospective and making changes to help them complete Session 2020 – 2021 with ease. This year CBSE exams for class X & XII are scheduled in May 2021 (Tentative) due to on-going COVID19 pandemic. Certain official announcements have been made regarding 2021 CBSE Board exams giving a bit of clarity to board students.

Recently, several media post became viral claiming that CBSE Class X & XII exams to be held in March 2021. This created agitation in the student. To end the speculations, CBSE released a clarification stating that it is yet to finalise the exam dates and class X & XII CBSE Board exams will not be held in March 2021. Enough time will be given to the students for exam preparations. There is no compulsion to conduct CBSE Board exams in March due to pandemic.

CBSE Board Exam 2021 Important updates till now:

  1. CBSE Board decided to delay Class X & XII board exams. In recent webinar, Union Education Minister made it clear that CBSE Board exams will not be held in March if COVID19 pandemic is not brought under control. There will be a delay in exams.
  2. Practical exams will be taking place once Schools reopen. Practical exams will be conducted in school only. No information for the online Practical exams.
  3. Several changes will be seen in CBSE Board exam question papers. It will be more application based and objective type.
  4. No further reduction will be there in exam syllabus. As, it is already reduced by 30%. CBSE reduced its CBSE Board Exam Syllabus due to delay in session and extended lockdowns. The aim was to complete syllabus on time.
  5. CBSE date sheet for theoretical exams will be announced in January 2021. As per the officials, CBSE will release its complete Class X & XII exam schedule in January 2021.
  6. Admit cards will be issued online to all the schools.
  7. CBSE 2021 date sheet will be declared by consulting with the stakeholders.
  8. CBSE will see that not more than 12 students to sit in the exam room.
  9. Education Minister, Mr. Pokhriyal said that CBSE Class X, XII Board Exams dates will be announced well in advance.
  10. The exam dates will be scheduled by keeping other important exam dates in mind to avoid clash of the dates.
  11. There will be three set of questions papers with matching level of difficulty.
  12. Also, the exams will be at the centers and CBSE will increase the examination center so that students need not to travel too far.
