JEE Advanced 2021 Exam Dates Announced: 75% Marks Eligibility Criteria Scrapped

Education Minister, Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal announced JEE Advanced 2021 exam dates in a live interaction on Twitter. This put an end to all the speculations about the JEE Advanced exam dates this year.  JEE advanced exam will be held on 3rd July 2021. Like the previous year, NTA (National Testing Agency) has removed the 75% marks in class XII as the eligibility criteria of the JEE Advanced 2021 exams.

JEE Advanced exam is the gateway to IITs and every year, the top 2.5 lakh rank holders of JEE Main are selected to appear for JEE Advanced.

As per the education minister, these dates have been selected to give an ample amount of time for exam preparation. Date announcements will give a time management idea to the students to start their preparation. Here, we are sharing the details of the JEE Advanced 2021 exam date.

JEE Advanced 2021 Exam Dates Announced: Details by Education Minister

  1. JEE Advanced 2021 Exam Date – JEE Advanced exams will be held on 3rd July 2021.
  2. JEE Advanced will be held once in year 2021, unlike the JEE Main 2021 exam. Which is been doubled in 2021 due to COVID19 Pandemic. (Check JEE Main 2021 exam details)
  3. Exam Conducting IIT – IIT Kharagpur will conduct JEE Advanced 2021 exam. Last year, IIT Delhi conducted the exam.
  4. 75% Marks Eligibility criteria is scrapped – This year also, NTA gave relaxation in eligibility criteria of JEE Advanced exam.
    75% of marks in class XII were the minimum requirement for students to appear in JEE Advanced. This criteria is been relaxed in JEE Advanced 2020 exam as board exams were not conducted and marks were awarded on the basis of academic performance. This year also, students who have passed the exam will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced. Class 12 marks criteria is been relaxed due to the COVID19 effect on studies.

  5. NO change in the number of JEE Advance exam attempts – Education minister didn’t speak about the relaxation in a number of attempts. Students who have exhausted all attempts cannot appear for JEE Advanced 2021. Students who qualified for JEE Advanced 2020 but did not appear for it will be allowed to appear, as announced by JAB. However, students who appeared in JEE Advanced 2020 and have no number of attempts left will not be given an extension on a number of attempts.
  6. JEE Advanced Exam Patten – JEE Advanced exam consist of two papers, Paper 1 & Paper 2 each having separate 3 sections for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
  7. Exam Duration – JEE Advanced paper 1 & paper 2 exam duration is 3 hours, each.
