CBSE Released Class 10th & 12th Term-1 Exam Date Sheet For 2021-2022

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the schedule for class-10th & 12th term-1 exams on 18th October 2021. The date sheets are made available on the official website of CBSE-ย www.cbse.gov.in.

To download the CBSE class 10th & 12th term-1 data sheet, for the major and minor subjects respectively, follow the following steps-

  • Visit the official website of CBSE- www.cbse.gov.in.
  • Click on the academic website tab on the page.
  • Go to the Announcements section and click the link which represents CBSE Term-1 date sheet.
  • Click on the respective class-10th/ 12th date sheet. The date sheet will appear on your screen.
  • Download the page for further reference.

Earlier, CBSE announced that for the ongoing session 2021-2022, the board exams for class-10th and 12th would be bifurcated into two terms. The term-1 exams will be held in November-December 2021, while the term-2 exams will be conducted in March-April, 2022.

Term-1 exams will cover 50 percent of the total academic syllabus in an objective format, while the rest of the 50% syllabus will be conducted in subjective form. The mode of examination for term-2 will be a matter of decision according to the pandemic conditions during March-April, 2022.

The board added that the term-1 exam would be conducted within 90 minutes, whereas 120 minutes will be provided to the students to complete the term-2 exams.

The board announced that the objective exams would also be offline, and the students will have to fill in the OMR sheets to submit their answers. The mode of exam for term-2 will still be declared as per the prevailing conditions of the pandemic.

According to the CBSE board, if the exams are conducted in a pre-pandemic method, it may take at least 40-45 days to complete the exams. Thus, the schedular will be divided into two parts in which there will be major subjects and minor subjects.ย Thus, CBSE can conduct more than a single exam on a day.

A date sheet for minor subjects will be provided to the group of schools that teach the respective minor subjects. A combined date sheet is already announced for the major subjects of term-1 exams.

The HRD minister Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal said that CBSE had introduced changes to the board exams this year. He noted that term-1 exams are set so that they benefit the students by improving their critical thinking ability.

The exam papers are set with fewer questions to attempt and more choices within the question. There are more objective questions and very few subjective questions.

It is also notified that CBSE will conduct more than a single exam in a single day out of which one will be the major subject and others can be skill-oriented subjects.

CBSE has also allocated a list of Guidelines for the school, which states-ย 

  1. The final exams for minor or skill-oriented subjects will start from 15/11/2021, whereas the exams for Major subjects will be held from 24/11/2021.
  2. The OMR sheets will be made available and downloadable on the CLOUD.
  3. The duration of exams will be 90 minutes, while the question papers will be provided to the exam centres by the morning of the respective exam dates.
  4. The exam will be held from 11:30 am -1:00 pm.
  1. OMR sheets shall be submitted to the exam control room of the respective centres by 1:30 pm on the day of exams.
  2. Any teacher can check the answer sheet as the answer key will be provided to the respective centres after the exam.
  3. One exam centre will hold a capacity of 500 students that may be seated in a single room.
  4. There will be one observer over every 500 students. In case of more than 500 students in any centre, the board will provide two observers.
  5. CBSE has notified that it is mandatory for all the students to give term-1 exams. Term-1 exam will be considered of equal weightage to term-2 exams.
  6. All the students must give term-1 exams and take them as serious as the final board exams.
  7. The score card for term-1 exam will be provided after term-1 exams. The final result will be declared together after term-2 exams.
  8. On the day of exam conductance of minor subjects of class-12th, the exam of a major subject of class-10th can also be taken.
  9. Keeping in time the winter season, exams will start from 11:30 instead of 10:30 unlike the schedule pre-pandemic. 20 minutes of time will be provided to the students for reading the question paper instead of 15 minutes.
  10. The other required guidelines will be updated to the students on the time of issuing the admit card.
