The Union government cancelled CBSE Class 12 board exams 2021 on June 1, 2021, due to the continuing second wave of COVID-19. As per the officials, CBSE will bring “well-defined objective criteria” in a time-bound manner to assess the students.
The CBSE decided to announce the results of class 12 before August 15, 2021. CBSE will submit the evaluation criteria to the Supreme Court by June 17, 2021. Later it will be published on the official website of CBSE, cbse.gov.in
After submitting the evaluation criteria to Supreme Court, CBSE will release the policy and FAQs. These will be available on the official website of CBSE. Helpdesk and helpline numbers will be released to clear every doubt of parents and students about the result declaration.
On further clarification about the evaluation system, CBSE officials dismissed the news of ‘possible grades’ for class 12 CBSE Board results. All the CBSE students will be awarded marks like the students of the batch before or after them.
CBSE Class 12 Marks Evaluation Criteria
CBSE created a 12-member panel on June 4 to decide the evaluation criteria for Class 12 students’ result declaration. The board is looking for ways to develop an evaluation developia that includes students’ performance in class 10 & 11 and pre-board in class 12. As per the officials, schools have to compute and submit marks to CBSE in one month, and the teachers would play a significant role in the evaluation process.
After marks submission, CBSE will take 10 to 15 days to complete the process and publish online results for students. The complete process of Class 12 CBSE results to be finished before August 15, 2021.

Key points of CBSE evaluation criteria:
- Marks will be awarded to students of Class 12 CBSE not grades.
- Marks will be given to Class 12 2021 batch to create uniformity.
- There will be a special mention in the mark-sheet of students willing to study abroad.
- Assessment done by teachers’ and schools’ will play a vital role in right evaluation of student’s performance.
- CBSE practical exam marks and internal assessment marks will be used in the final computation of a student result.
- Result of class 12 will be complied by taking student performance in the past 3 year exams: Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12 pre-board test.
- The final scores will be based on a 30-30-40 split, with the latest pre-board test accounting for 40% of the weight in the final tally, and the other two equally contributing to the remaining share.
- Students who didn’t performed well in the internal assessment or pre-board exams will get an opportunity to improve their marks in one subject of choice by appearing in compartment exam. These exams will be conducted by CBSE when the time is favourable.
- The CBSE evaluation panel would also make a provision for students to improve their marks by appearing in the board exam which would by conducted later by the CBSE. The students not satisfied by their results can apply for the exam.

CBSE Class 12 Result Declaration
CBSE Class 12 board 2021 Results are expected to be declared before 15th August 2021 based on the evaluation criteria set by the CBSE.
