Plea Filed to Postpone NEET Exam

As everyone is aware, the NEET-UG 2022 exam is set to take place on July 17. The admit cards were made available this week via neet.nta.nic.in. However, now medical aspirants from all over the nation have been pleading for the NEET-UG 2022 exam to be postponed by at least 40 days. They gave a number of explanations, one of which was a conflict between the CUET and NEET exam schedules.

Students from various states have now knocked on the Delhi High Court’s door asking for the postponement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), which is in high demand. A second go in the NEET-UG 2022 exam was also requested in the petition Mamata Sharma, an attorney, filed in the Delhi High Court. The matter is anticipated to be heard urgently by the court today.

A national-level parents’ organization has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi pleading with him to intervene and postpone the medical entrance exam, which is set for July 17, amid rising calls to do so for the NEET-UG exam in 2022. The letter is being sent out as the National Testing Agency (NTA) has explicitly stated that there will be no schedule changes made for any of the competitive tests scheduled for July through August 2022. About 18 lakh candidates have registered for the NEET UG exam this year to gain admission to UG medical programmes including BDS, BSMS, MBBS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, and others.

โ€œWhy students are being forced to appear for exams when there will be no impact on their academic session. Several other entrance exams are also scheduled during that time so it will be very difficult for students to commute as they will be traveling to other cities to appear for these exams. Kindly intervene and discuss with all the stakeholders and take a decision immediately and defer the exam by at least 40-45 days in the interest of lakhs of students.โ€ The letter by India Wide Parents Association was addressed to PM to consider their request in view of โ€œless preparation timeโ€.

โ€œWe want only 30-40 days. Itโ€™s not big-time which they canโ€™t give us. Please, listen to us, donโ€™t ignore us like we arenโ€™t the future and destroy our future. Why? What we have done to you? Please postpone NEET UG as lakhs of students want this. Everyone wants NEET to be postponed.โ€, Sheelu Yadav, a NEET-UG aspirant said.

The big question that many medical aspirants are thinking about is “Would NTA Postpone NEET 2022 Exam?” Well, the only certain thing right now is that the Delhi High Court will hear a petition seeking to delay the NEET-UG 2022 Exam today. Only that the Delhi High Court has accepted the plea and consented to hear it today that is 14th July 2022.
