JEE Main 2023 Exam Session 2 Shift-1 Question Paper Analysis

The exam for JEE Main 2024 Session 2 Day 1, shift 1 has ended. Students who took the exam on April 4 (Day 1) reported that the difficulty level of the JEE Main 2024 paper was moderate. Candidates can learn more about the types of questions asked on the exam, the expected JEE Main score for 2024, and the difficulty level of IIT JEE questions by reviewing the JEE Main paper analysis. There are two shifts for the JEE Main test in 2024: morning (9 am to 12 noon) and evening (3 pm to 6 pm). There were total of 90 questions and the total marks for JEE Main Paper 1 was 300. The paper had 2 parts and each part had 3 sections- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

The applicants are urged to adhere to all JEE Main exam instructions and admit cards published by the NTA. Candidates taking the exam today should adhere to the JEE Main 2024 norms, exam day rules, and JEE Mains dress code. To the exam location, candidates must bring their JEE Main 2024 admit card, a self-declaration, one photo ID, and a passport-size colour photo. Candidates must also refrain from bringing any forbidden items to the JEE Main exam location.

Many students, who took the examination today for JEE Main for BE/BTech, are of the view that the paper was moderate but it depends on how well you were prepared for the examination. JEE Main 2024 April 4 Session 2 Shift 1 Paper Analysis

The difficulty level of the JEE Main April 4 shift 1 exam followed the same trend as the January session. Overall, the level of difficulty was easy to moderate. In comparison to Maths, Physics and Chemistry were the easy. Candidates found the maths exam difficult because of the lengthy calculations. However, the paper was mostly balanced and was solvable in the allotted time. The JEE Main shift 1 paper analysis by topic is provided below.

Physics: The level of difficulty of the physics section was easy. The questions were mainly from Mechanics, Modern Physics, Electrodynamics, and current electricity. Overall, the physics section was doable, and students who had a good grasp of the concepts could answer the questions with ease. 12th class syllabus covered more questions.

Chemistry: The level of difficulty was moderate. There were some questions directly taken from NCERT. Physical Chemistry was given less weightage, and questions were asked about electrochemistry, ionic equilibrium, chemical kinetics, chemical equilibrium, organic chemistry, and atomic structure. Some questions were tricky and needed a thorough understanding. Among the 11th and 12th class, more questions were asked from class 12 syllabus.

Mathematics: The level of difficulty was moderate to difficult as the calculation for MCQs was lengthy and some questions were tricky. Questions on calculus, coordinate geometry, probability, vectors, three-dimensional geometry, and algebra were present. The paper was primarily composed of vector and 3D. Nearly all topics were covered.

Overall, we can say that the difficulty level of the exam was moderate and the questions were balanced.

Candidates Should Take Care of the Following Things Before Appearing for The Exam:

  • Candidates must arrive at the exam centre by the time specified on their admit card.
  • Candidates must carry their JEE Main 2024 admit card, which can be accessed from the website jeemain.nta.nic.in, as well as valid ID documentation and one passport-size photo.
  • Candidates must adhere to the JEE Main 2024 dress code, which is detailed on the hall ticket.
  • In the exam room, candidates should not bring any forbidden items.
