10 Proven Tips to CRACK NTSE 2019 in One Month

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national level scholarship examination conducted by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to identify talents in students across India. The Examination is conducted for students studying class 10 and the qualified candidates are provided with scholarships for monetary benefits throughout their academic life.

NTSE exam consists of 2 levels-Stage 1 (at state level) and Stage 2 (at national level). Stage 1 NTSE 2019 exam has been already conducted in December 2018 and Stage 2 exam is going to be held on 16th May 2019. Nearly 5 Lakhs of students appear in this exam every year, out of which only 1000 talented candidates are able to earn this prestigious scholarship.

As the competition is really tough, all candidates aspiring to qualify this exam need to put a lot of effort while preparing for it. Most of the students prepare for NTSE along with their Board exam preparation. However, the last month preparation for NTSE is the most crucial phase. NTSE 2019 Preparation Tips

  1. Understand NTSE 2019 syllabus: Scoring high or qualifying in any exam requires a proper preparation strategy which includes making an effective study plan. For this, it is necessary to understand the syllabus first. Hence, candidates must check the NTSE 2019 syllabus and understand the various topics according to the weightage given to each topic. This helps during preparation as well as revision of the important chapters and topics well before the exam.
  2. Know NTSE 2019 Exam Pattern: All aspirants should know the exam pattern of NTSE to understand the difficulty level of the exam. NTSE 2019 exam is a paper-pen (offline) based exam comprising two papers– Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), having 100 questions each. Each question carries 1 mark without negative marking in stage 2 examination. Duration of the exam is 120 minutes for each paper. 
  3. Make a NTSE study planner: After a keen analysis of the syllabus and exam pattern, candidates should make a study planner for NTSE 2019. Prepare a study time-table giving priority to the important topics and chapters. You should keep more time for revising the difficult topics and the ones from which maximum questions are being asked in the previous papers. Devote 10-11 hours daily for preparation. While making the time-table, keep a break time of 15-20 minutes after every 2 hours. It helps to stimulate your mind and boost your concentration.

4.  Follow NCERT textbooks: Since NTSE exam is conducted by NCERT it is always advisable to study from NCERT textbooks. Follow NCERT textbooks for class 9th and 10th during your preparation for NTSE 2019. Solve each every NCERT textbook and Exemplar questions for better preparation. 5.  Know your strengths and weaknesses: For an effective preparation, it is very important to understand your strengths and weaknesses. Candidates should devote around 2-3 hours daily in self-study. A careful analysis will help you to understand the weaker areas where you need to place more efforts and prepare more. After learning about the weaker sections, practice more questions based on it to improve your knowledge.

10. Take care of your health: As we all know that hard work is necessary to achieve success but it is also very important to take care of your health too. A healthy body and a healthy mind can concentrate more during studies. Proper food, sleep and rest are important to keep your brain healthy for better retention during studies and proper performance during exam. Hence, eat healthy, sleep at least 7 hours daily and do regular exercises.
