How to Create Concept Maps?
Creating Concept Maps is a simple 6-step process. Just follow the information sequence as per your preference and create an effective Concept Maps
- Take out a large sheet of paper and write down the central topic of a chapter (the main heading) that you are going to map. Encircle that topic with a specified color to represent it better.
- Draw branches radiating outwards from the central topic. Using a different color for each branch is helpful.
- Write keywords (headings) along with these branches that represent the central heading and subheadings and the topic you are mapping.
- Draw additional sub-branches that extend from your main branches. The words on these branches are the points to learn or subdivisions of subheadings you wrote on your main branches.
- Keep expanding the Concept Maps outwards with additional sub-sub-topics/keywords and branches.
- Create a complete connectivity chart to learn the relation between the topics and sub-topics. You can also write some important points about each topic to learn better.

- Use keywords or short phrases on lines. The phrase must cover the core of the concepts.
- Use proper spacing between topics to avoid any confusion.

- Use UPPER and lower case to emphasize the importance of each word.
- Create a memorable central image and complementary visuals that come off the main branches.
