Some people diligently work for the betterment of our country. To acknowledge these people’s efforts, various rewards such as Bharat Ratna, Padma(Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri) awards are conferred.
Significance of Padma awards
Padma awards are one of the highest award recognitions in the republic of India that are announced on every republic day. The same is conferred by the President of India, during the ceremonial functions held at the Rashtrapati Bhawan every year during March-April.
The three types of Padma awards that are bestowed to deserving persons in various fields such as social work, art, medicine, literature and education, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, sports, civil service, etc. Includes,
- Padma Vibhushan
- Padma Bhushan and
- Padma Shri.
The list of Padma awardees is recommended by the Padma Awards Committee that is constituted by the Prime Minister of the country every year.

List of Padma Award winners 2022
This year in 2022, the Padma award was given to 128 persons which comprised 4 Padma Vibhushan, 17 Padma Bhushan, and 107 Padma Shri.
The Padma Vibhushan award has been given in the field of Art, Literature and Education, Civil Services, and Public Affairs. Padma Bhushan has been given in the field of Art, Public Affairs, Trade and Industry, Sports, Civil Services, Science and Engineering, Literature and Education, and others- culinary. Whereas, 107 Padma Shri awards have been conferred to people from various fields.
General Bipin Rawat (Posthumous), Shri Satya Narayana Nadella, Shri Sundarajan Pichai, Shri Moti Lal Madan, Shri Sonu Nigam have the Padma awards in their fields on 26th January 2022.
