The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the notification for the recruitment of 12,075 clerk posts. And now, it’s time to start your preparations for the examination. The preliminary examination will be held in the month of December and mains examination in the month of January as per the official notification. IBPS Clerk Prelims 2019 Examination Pattern

The preliminary exam will be conducted online. There will be three section in total and the duration of the exam will be 1 hour. There will be total 100 questions with a penalty of 1/4 marks for each wrong answer. All questions will be MCQ types.

Preparation Tips for IBPS Clerk 2019 – English Language

This paper tests the knowledge of the candidates related to English language. For this, candidates need to grab the hold of the basics of the language. The questions in this section are framed from the topics like synonyms, antonyms, word formation, sentence completion, reading comprehension, etc.

  • Practicing para jumbles, cloze test, fill in the blanks, etc. can become easy if you have a good command over English language and grammar.
  • Use the elimination method for cloze test and fill in the blanks type questions.
  • Take help of good English grammar books  and start from the very basic to have a clear understanding of the language.
  • Develop the habit of reading newspaper. This will boost your grasp over the language and latest vocabulary in use.
 

 Preparation Tips for IBPS Clerk 2019 – Reasoning

Reasoning section is completely based on the power of observation and mental ability of the candidate. It is not simple as you grab the formula and answer immediately after applying it. In reasoning, proper practice of the entire concept should be done to attain good marks.

  • Start to spend some time in solving puzzles. These will sharpen your reasoning skills and train your brain to think logically. Try to solve puzzles in the previous IBPS clerk question paper, it helps you aware with the level of puzzle asked in the exam.
  • With only couple of months left for the exam, start to practice on important and moderate reasoning questions. For example: Coding Decoding, Direction Sense, Blood Relation, Order & Ranking, Syllogism, Inequalities.

Preparation Tips for IBPS Clerk 2019 – Numerical Ability

This is the most difficult section of the IBPS Clerk Preliminary exam as it involves the application of innumerable formulas. However, if you are well-prepared, this is the most scoring section too. This section consumes most of your time if you are not familiar with shortcut tricks. Know how to be well prepared in formulas, concepts, properties, shortcuts tricks, etc. to solve higher calculation of this section in less time with 10 Vedic Math tricks .

  • Remember the formulas of each topic by heart.
