The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE is planning to introduce an Artificial Intelligence course in school for the students of class 8th, 9th and 10th. The board has taken this step to make school students well-versed with what’s happening in the sphere of technology. The new course of Artificial Intelligence, AI will be added to the list of skill education subjects. The course will be introduced from the next academic session. Although CBSE is yet to release the official notification on the website as per the information available, a member of the board’s governing body has confirmed this news.

According to the reports, “Syllabus for the new subject would be drafted for all the three classes. If required, the board will also help in the capacity building of schools for the teaching-learning of the new subject from the next academic session.”
As per the latest data, the CBSE has total 20,299 schools in India and 220 schools in 25 other countries affiliated to it. The Artificial Intelligence will be introduced as an optional subject in all the schools.
What is Artificial Intelligence?
Artificial intelligence is the ability of a machine to think, learn and perform tasks that generally require human intelligence to complete. Tech giants including Google, Facebook, Microsoft, among others are leveraging this technology to give an edge to the products and services that they are offering. The most common use of AI technologies can be found in almost all mobile phones in today’s day and age.
Right now, CBSE is gearing up to conduct the Board Examination 2019 for class 10th and 12th, commencing from the month of February 2019. The class 12th board exam will begin on February 15th, 2019 and end on April 3rd, 2019. Similarly, CBSE class 10th board examination will start from February 21st, 2019 and end on March 29th, 2019.
