Class 12 Students demand board cancellation: Hashtag #cancel12thboardexam2021 Trends on Twitter

A sudden steep rise in the cases of COVID-19 has increased the concern of students who are preparing to give CBSE Class 12 Board exams 2021. India is battling with the second wave of COVID-19; considering the situation, the CBSE has already canceled Class 10 CBSE Board exams 2021and postponed Class 12 Board exams which were to be commenced from 4th May. Following CBSE, other state boards and CISCE also postponed Class 12 board exams.

What is the concern of students?

One month has passed and there is no respite in COVID-19 cases. After USA, India is the second most affected country having active corona virus case load. It is said that the virus is now floating in the air. This situation is increasing the fear of students and parents. Many students are raising concern and urging Union education ministry to cancel the Class 12 CBSE Board exams 2021.

Social Media is Flooded and Online Petition has crossed 5L Signatures.

By means of social media handles students are conveying their fear and concern so that their raised voices can reach to the Education Ministry. On May 1, 2021, students started a Twitter campaign with hashtag #cancel12thboardexams2021. Notably, in mere 10 days this hashtag is trending with one million tweets. The prime objective of this campaign is to cancel Board Exam 2021 Class 12. Also, students have filed a petition asking Govt of India to cancel 12th board exam on change.org and not to be surprised it has crossed 597590 signatures by 11th May. It is not risky to conduct exams in this scenario and postponing these for long time will affect the career decision of the students.

CBSE Decision on Class 12 Board Exams

CBSE has not said announced till now. The decision is yet to come. Earlier, the CBSE had notified that the Class 12 board exam 2021 has been postponed and said that the decision on the revised date sheet for CBSE Class 12 board exam 2021 will be taken after June 1, 2021. As per the notification from the CBSE, candidates who are to appear for the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 must note that they will get 15 daysโ€™ notice before the commencement of the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021.

Students across the country have been entreating Education Ministry to abandon the 12th board examinations amid COVID 19 casesoutpouring. Students are the building block of society. Their future must be taken care with utmost care. Lakhs of students and their parents are anxiously waiting for the CBSE conclusive decision on their boardโ€™s exams.

Cancelled or not cancelled, students to be ready for next course of action.

Decision on cancellation is yet to come from Education Ministry.
