COVID-19 Effect – 30% Reduction in CBSE syllabus for class 9 to 12!!

The continuing situation of COVID-19 pandemic has affected the entire academic activities. This has forced CBSE, Central Board of Secondary Education to reduce syllabus by 30% for classes 9 to 12 for the academic year 2020-21. The Union minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said, the course committee has finalized the changes in the syllabi in consent with the curriculum committee and the Governing Body of the Board. “Considering the importance of learning achievements, it has been decided to rationalise syllabus up to 30% by retaining the core concepts”.

CBSE has notified the reduced syllabus on its official website cbse.nic.in. The board issued an explanation on the rationalization saying that it was a one-time measure, owing to the circumstances. The reasons behind the cut in syllabus are done in order to reduce the examination stress of the students and to prevent learning gaps as well.

CBSE syllabus 2020-21 has been revised for 9th to 12th. The modified syllabus is released online at cbseacademic.in.
