Latest Update: NTA has opened JEE Main 2026 Session 2 registration for the April attempt. The JEE Main 2026 Session 2 application form window is 01 February to 25 February 2026 (up to 9:00 PM) and fee payment is open till 25 February 2026 (up to 11:50 PM). (Source: NTA Public Notice โ€“ Session 2)

The JEE (Main) 2026 Session 2 exam date is scheduled between 02 April and 09 April 2026 as per the JEE Main 2026 Information Bulletin (IB). Who Can Apply? (JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria)

Age Limit (JEE Main 2026)

There is no age limit to appear in JEE (Main) 2026. However, institutes may apply their own age-related rules for admission. For a detailed eligibility overview, see: JEE Main eligibility criteria.

Year of Passing (Class 12 / Equivalent)

Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2024 or 2025, or are appearing in 2026, are eligible. Candidates who passed in 2023 or earlier are not eligible.

How to Apply for JEE Main 2026 (Session 2): Step-by-Step Registration Process

You can fill the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 application form online only via the official portal: jeemain.nta.nic.in.

For existing candidates (who applied for Session 1)

  • Candidates can log in using their existing Application Number & Password

  • Need to select paper, medium, exam city, and complete fee payment

For new candidates (Session 2 only)

New candidates can apply online through the official portal in โ€œOnlineโ€ mode only.

Step-by-step (as per the JEE Main 2026 Information Bulletin):

  1. Register and note the system-generated Application Number.
  2. Fill the application form (personal details, paper, exam cities, educational details).
  3. Upload required images/documents (details below).
  4. Pay the fee online (Net Banking / Card / UPI).
  5. Download/print the Confirmation Page (generated only after successful payment).

Important: Do not submit more than one application form. Multiple forms can be treated as Unfair Means (UFM) as per NTA rules mentioned in the Information Bulletin.


Documents Required for JEE Main 2026 Registration (Session 2)

Keep these ready before you start JEE Main 2026 registration:

  • Scanned Photograph (JPG/JPEG)
  • Scanned Signature (JPG/JPEG)
  • Class 10 certificate/marksheet (PDF)
  • PwD/PwBD certificate (PDF), if applicable
  • Identity proof scan (JPG/JPEG) only if youโ€™re verifying identity via methods other than Aadhaar/DigiLocker

Photo & Signature Size (Latest Specs by NTA)

  • Photograph (JPG/JPEG): 10 kb to 200 kb
  • Signature (JPG/JPEG): 10 kb to 100 kb
  • Class 10 certificate/marksheet (PDF): 50 kb to 300 kb
  • Identity proof scan (JPG/JPEG): 10 kb to 200 kb
  • PwD/PwBD certificate (PDF): 50 kb to 300 kb

Also note: NTA requires a live photograph capture during form filling (as mentioned in the Information Bulletin / portal instructions).


Aadhaar Update Advisory (Important for JEE Main 2026 Form Filling)

NTA has advised candidates to ensure Aadhaar details (name, DOB, gender, photo, address) are updated, as NTA may obtain these through Aadhaar Authentication. To avoid last-minute issues, keep your Aadhaar/DigiLocker details aligned with your Class 10 record.

  • Correction window: NTA will announce the JEE Main 2026 correction window on the website (only certain fields may be editable).
