CBSE Class 10th & 12th Term-1 Boards Exam to Start in November

Update on: 20 Sep 2021, 03:00 PM

CBSE has announced to conduct the term-1 CBSE board exams for class-10th & 12th by Mid-November. However, the date sheets for the respective classes are expected to be out by 10th October 2021.

Earlier, CBSE announced to conduct the class-10th & 12th Board exams into two terms. The term-1 will be conducted in Objective form within 90 minutes in the presence of exam proctors.

ย In contrast, the term-2 exam is supposed to be held subjectively within 120 minutes. The subjective exam will contain both, term-2 syllabus as well as practical components.

The Term-1 Exam will be conducted in Optical Mark Reading (OMR) Sheets. CBSE has confirmed that both the term-1 and term-2 exams will have unique syllabi (Term-1 syllabus wonโ€™t be asked in term-2 exams and visa-versa). If the prevailing conditions of the Pandemic sustain or worsen further, then term-1 exams that will already be held by then will be given more weightage.

Now that the exam dates are inching closer, letโ€™s look at some key points to score higher in the Term-1 exams.

  1. In Objective pattern exams, the inclination is more towards concept-based knowledge rather than theoretical understanding. Also, because the exam is Objective, you may find questions from the midlines in the NCERT textbooks. Prepare accordingly.ย  If you are a student of class 10th, you can take the help ofย MTGโ€™s 100 percent seriesย apart from NCERT textbooks to ensure complete coverage of NCERT Textbooks. For complete coverage of class 12th NCERT syllabus, you can adoptย MTGโ€™s Objective NCERT at your Fingertipsย besides NCERT textbooks for comprehensive coverage of syllabus from each line of NCERT.

2. As you know, less than two months are left for the term-1 exams. I suggest you designate one month for In-depth conceptual learning and the other month for revision and practice. Skip studying from a lot of books and instead get the books that cover everything in one place without exaggerating your preparation process. As they say,ย keep it simple.ย You can trust MTG’s Exam ready for a simplified revision and a complete practice of various typologies of questions. This Question bank comprises concise recap notes of the Chapter and then, arrangement of various Case-based, assertion-reason, and Stand-alone Multiple-Choice Questions. Preparing from a less bulky source will help you relax, and at the same time, you will be confident about covering the whole term-1 syllabus altogether.

  1. For revisions, you must make sure that you abide by the latest exam pattern by CBSE. Practising from the CBSE-issued Sample Question Papers may not be enough for ample practice. The best book that can ensure your final revision isย MTGโ€™s Score Moreย 10Sample papers.ย This book will help you thoroughly understand the latest Exam pattern with the help of 10 Sample papers. The book contains nine sample papers and one Blueprint issued by CBSE.

The book provides an OMR sheet after each sample paper for hands-on practice.

  1. Do not take the Objective exams lightly, neither exaggerate in panic.

Practice from the core. Keep a close look at the concepts. Do not let your results be based upon guess-making. Term-1 exams will help you in having a hold of concepts of your respective subjects.

  1. DO NOT HURRY IN SOLVING THE PAPER.

Even though the exam doesnโ€™t have any negative marking, every wrongly marked question will take your result one markdown. Divide your 90 minutes wisely so that you get an ample amount of time to solve papers and then to fill the OMR.

Keep at least half-hour to fill up the OMR sheet after solving the questions within 60 minutes.

You can perform well if you believe you can. All you need is a little guidance and the right set of books during these two months.

Start today and stop not until you make it till the last!
