SOF Olympiads is the International English Olympiad (IEO). If you are a first-time Olympiad competitor or a regular Olympiad competitor, the comprehensive Olympiad Prep guide is a must-have. We have suggested how to prepare for IEO by providing a step-by-step guide. SOF conducts the IEO Exam for classes 1 to 12 in collaboration with the British Council of India on the below dates. A school may choose a single date for the exam based on its convenience.

SOF IEO Syllabus 2025-26
The syllabus for the IEO (International English Olympiad) has already been published on the official SOF (Science Olympiad Foundation) website. Moreover, approximately 60,000 students are expected to take the exam this year. Those interested in participating should review the IEO syllabus comprising Word and Structure Knowledge, Reading, and Spoken and Written Expression and begin their preparation.

IMPORTANT NOTES
- Questions of level -1 Olympiad exams will be 60% from the current class syllabus and 40 % from the previous class syllabus, e.g Class -7thIEO exam will have 60% questions from class-7th and 40% questions from the class 6th (Not to mention this cannot be applied on class 1st)
- Questions of level – 2 Olympiad exams will be from the current class syllabus only. (Not applied on class 1stand 2nd)
- Questions in the Achievers section will be from the current class syllabus only.
Most students do not bother to look at the syllabus, but it is necessary to determine which topics to prioritize over others. Examine the IEO 2025 syllabus and the exam pattern mentioned above thoroughly and make a note of the mark distribution for each section.
