SOF IMO Level 2 Cut-Off Marks

The official class-wise and zone-wise cut-off marks for SOF IMO Level 2 are determined based on:

  • Number of students appearing
  • Overall performance
  • Class-wise competition level
Class Total Marks (Cut-Off) Achievers (M4) Mathematical Reasoning / Applied Maths (M2) Everyday Mathematics (M3) Logical Reasoning (M1)
3 32 6 9 8 9
4 30 8 6 9 7
5 42 12 13 9 8
6 41 12 14 6 9
7 38 12 11 5 10
8 42 12 16 10 4
9 46 15 16 6 9
10 46 12 15 6 13
11 39 6 16.5 12 12
12 39 6 17 8 8

In the event of more than one student scoring the same total marks, the marks obtained section-wise are taken into consideration. The weightage given to the sections varies depending on the class level. For classes 1 to 10, the order of weightage is M3, M2, M1. However, for classes 11 and 12, the order is M3, M1, M2.

Apart from the top 5% qualifiers, additional students can also qualify for the second level.

Class toppers, where at least 10 students from a class appeared for the IMO and scored 50% or more marks, automatically qualify.

Furthermore, the top 25 rank holders from each zone, class-wise, also secure a spot in the second level.

Ultimately, the SOF IMO aims to foster scientific aptitude and passion among young students, allowing them to explore their potential and showcase their talent on an international platform.

Students are advised to check the official cut-off list released by SOF for detailed cut-off marks applicable to their class and zone.
