NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is an all-India-level medical entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH in various medical and dental colleges across the country. Registrations for NEET 2024 has started from 9 February, and all aspiring medical students need to understand the eligibility criteria, exam pattern, and other important details to prepare well for the exam. NEET Eligibility Criteria 2024

The candidates who comply with the following eligibility criteria for NEET 2024 can apply for NEET exam, to check in details check NEET Exam Eligibility 2024,

  • Age Limit: The candidate must be at least 17 years old at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before December 31, 2024. The upper age limit for NEET is 25 years for General and OBC candidates, and 30 years for SC/ST candidates.
  • Educational Qualification: The candidate must have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The minimum aggregate score required in these subjects is 50% for General candidates, 45% for PWD, and 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
  • Nationality: The candidates must be an Indian citizen, or NRI, or person with Indian origin, or an overseas citizen of India.

Just like 2023, the exam will be conducted in pen and paper format and will be based on the syllabi of 11 and 12 class physics, chemistry, and biology subjects. NEET Admit Card 2024

Important – NEET Chapterwise Questions Biology with Answers

The NEET 2024 exam pattern is expected to be similar to the previous years’ exam pattern, with the following details:

  • Mode of Exam: The exam will be conducted in offline mode (pen and paper-based).
  • Duration: The duration of the exam will be 3 hours.
  • Total Number of Questions: There will be 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in the exam.
  • Subject and Marks Distribution: The exam will consist of 4 sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with each section consisting of 45 questions. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks, and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Language of Exam: The exam will be conducted in 11 languages – English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
